Segen Academy — Staff & visitor workplace
A renewable-energy distributor that trains 1,600 engineers a year needed EV charging that practised what it preached. HALO FastHub delivered in one day — and pays for itself through staff and visitor charging revenue.
Clean energy infrastructure for people who teach clean energy.
01
A training campus that needed to lead by example.
Segen is the UK's leading distributor of renewable energy products — solar panels, battery systems, heat pumps. Its training academy at Wincanton puts roughly 1,600 installers through accredited courses each year. Arriving with no EV charging for staff or trainees was becoming a problem the company could no longer ignore.

02
Rapid deployment, no planning permission, no grid upgrade.
HALO FastHub arrived as a prefabricated unit. No planning application was required. No DNO notification was needed. The canopy was craned into position over the staff car park, tied into the existing distribution board, and commissioned the same day — twelve charge points live before close of business.

03
Revenue from public access offset the lease from month one.
Segen opened charging access to trainees, visiting contractors, and the general public during off-peak hours. The revenue generated through the HALO OS tariff management system covered the monthly lease cost within the first thirty days — turning a cost line into a net-zero infrastructure asset.

As a leader in the renewables sector, we are committed to setting an example by using innovative solutions to reduce our carbon footprint. Convenient and sustainable on-site EV charging will help us achieve that goal.
