How HALO FastHub actually works.

Four systems.
One integrated unit.
HALO FastHub combines four technologies engineered to work together, coordinated in real time by HALO, our intelligent energy management platform. It is not a charge point with a solar panel bolted on. It is a complete energy system.
Solar PV canopy
19.32 kWp of monocrystalline solar PV mounted on a purpose-built canopy above the parking bays. Generation feeds directly into the system, prioritising charge point demand and routing surplus to battery storage or back to the building.
Mains integration
The hub connects to the site’s existing 230/400V TP&N electrical supply at 100–250A. No new grid connection required. Mains is drawn only when solar and battery cannot meet demand, minimising grid draw and protecting against peak tariff exposure.
Optional battery storage
Up to 250 kWh of on-site battery storage with a maximum output of 125 kW. Captures surplus solar generation and holds it for peak demand periods, overnight fleet charging, high-demand mornings or grid peak avoidance.
HALO
The energy management system that coordinates all three sources in real time. Runs Dynamic Load Management (DLM), monitors every charge point, manages payments and back-office, and exports operational data for ESG and fleet reporting.

Ground footprint
12.2m × 2.5m. Based on a 40ft high-cube container equivalent. The central equipment cabinet sits within this footprint.

Solar canopy (fully extended)
15.0m × 7.0m. The canopy extends outward from the central cabinet to cover the parking bays on both sides.

Recommended parking layout
18.22m × 10.10m accommodating approximately 14 parking spaces. Two outer spaces are designated as accessible EV charging bays, including a traffic exclusion zone.
All bays comply with PAS 1899:2022.

Installation access
A single HIAB crane lift is required for installation. Access route to the installation location must accommodate a standard flatbed lorry.
Our site survey team confirms access requirements at feasibility stage.

HALO. The system that makes it work.
HALO is the energy and charge point management system at the centre of every HALO FastHub. It runs continuously, making real-time decisions about energy flow, charge point allocation and grid draw.
Dynamic Load Management (DLM)
HALO monitors demand across all 12 charge points in real time. When aggregate demand approaches your available capacity, it reduces charge rates dynamically to stay within the connection limit. As vehicles finish charging, available capacity is redistributed automatically. The result: 12 simultaneous charge points on your existing grid connection, no risk of tripping the supply and no DNO upgrade required.
Bidirectional charging
HALO manages energy flow across solar, battery (if applicable) and mains in real time. Generation is prioritised for charging. Surplus is pushed back into your building. Grid draw is minimised automatically.
As bidirectional charging technology matures, HALO FastHub is architected to support it.
Tariff and revenue management
Operators set their own tariffs for different user groups such as staff, visitors, fleet, public. HALO handles all payment processing and back-office administration.
RFID, contactless, app-based and account-free payment methods are all supported. Revenue data is logged and reportable. You stay in control of pricing. We handle everything else.
Reporting and ESG data
HALO logs generation and consumption at half-hourly intervals. Monthly reports cover solar generation, battery throughput, grid draw and carbon savings. Data is exportable to CSV and compatible with ESOS, SECR, SBTi and BEIS reporting formats. API integration with fleet management systems is available. Everything you need for carbon reporting from day one.
